About the course

A series of interactive lessons is an introduction for young people (and their families) interested in taking action surrounding their mental health and general wellbeing.

Centred around aspects of positive Mindset and Mindfulness, the course allows young people to actively participate in tasks which will see them develop confidence in managing their own emotions and in connecting with those around them. The duration of the course is 8 weeks (one lesson per week) with some practises and strategies to try throughout the week. If however you want to do the lessons back to back, the option to do that is there!

Leigh Harran

Leigh Harran is a straight talking, to the point kind of gal who looks for simple and accessible ways of bringing the best out of everyone she meets. She is a fully trained Mindfulness Teacher for Children and Teenagers. Leigh is Head of Year in a large school in Edinburgh as well as a Modern Studies and PSHE Teacher. Leigh is also a volunteer mentor with the Charity YPeople, working with Care Experienced Young people in Glasgow. She was nominated as Mentor of the Year in the 2019 Mentoring Scotland Awards.
